Bratislava World Music Festival is a multi-genre festival taking place in indoor and outdoor venues in and around the old town heart of Slovakia’s capital Bratislava. In a region that has long been Europe’s crossroads, the festival forms a meeting point between East and West.
The programme consists of concerts (Kaláscima (IT), showcases (Banda (SK), Katarina Máliková& Ansámbel (SK), Ľudové Mladistvá (SK), Ľubomír Gašpar Cimbal Project (SK), KarpaTon (SK), et al.), conference, film premiére, workshops, presentations about the traditional culture of the region, children’s programme and public discussions. It features leading musicians and bands from Slovakia and beyond. Now in its second edition, and as the only world music festival in Slovakia, it provides an exceptional window on world music’s context in the country and its relationship to Slovakia’s rich and still living traditional musics.

The line-up of GALACONCERT includes: Renaud Garcia-Fons (F) & Derya Türkan (TR), Oratnitza (BG), Karolina Cicha & Bart Pałyga (PL)
