FWMF going to Babel Music XP!

The Forum of Worldwide Music Festivals will hold it's Annual General Meeting and Member Meeting on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of March in Marseille.

Next to our own meetings, we'll be attending Babel Music XP. 

From 23-25 March 2023, BABEL MUSIC XP will put Marseille at the economic and cultural epicentre of the contemporary world music scene. With a Professional Trade Fair at the Friche Belle de Mai and world music concerts for the general public at the Dock des Suds, BABEL MUSIC XP is firmly at the heart of the Mediterranean hub on the world music map.

The aim of this international event is to contribute towards the revival of a branch of the music industry which is facing a number of new challenges. BABEL MUSIC XP will bring musicians and audiences together, promote information sharing and the exchange of ideas between major players in the sector, stimulate the economy of an industry undergoing rapid change and provide the opportunity to experience the very latest world music trends.

FWMF goes to MMVV

The member festivals of the Forum of WorldWide Music Festivals are heading for Vic (Catalunya/Spain). 

From 14 to 18 September they will have member meetings, participate in speed meetings and are open to networking or informal meetings. All linked to Mercat de Musica Via de Vic.

Meetings and presentations with Jordana Leigh (Lincoln Center of the Performing Arts, New York/USA) and LLuc Silvestre (Institut Ramon Llull, Barcelona/Catalunya) are also scheduled.

And of course all the great concerts and events of MMVV.

From 1 October 2022, Music Meeting is looking for an:

Artistic director / Programmer

for its artistic program

(20 hours per week – freelance/self-employed)

Encounters between artists and audiences: that is what Music Meeting is all about. A platform for experts and music lovers, featuring a three day international music festival that offers new and different sounds. By representing  over 300 artists from all over the world annually, Music Meeting offers  a stage for musicians who have rarely, if ever, been heard in the Netherlands, ever since it started in 1985. With new projects, or in special line-ups. The festival, which takes place annually during the Whitsuntide weekend at Park Brakkenstein in Nijmegen, has a strongregional and(inter) national  profile.
